Here are the results and a few pix from the
"Super Bowling Tournament"
on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1st, 2009

The winner of the tournament was young gun

Douglas Csanyi (left).

Doug is an excellent young bowler and showed everyone what he's capable of in our Super Bowling Tournament on Super Bowl Sunday. The top 4 bowlers after 5 games of qualifiying bowled a final game to determine their final position. Doug who sports a nice 155 average, came through in the big game with his own big game of 204 scratch, plus handicap for a 269 total. Doug showed his maple moxie by finishing with the last 5 or 6 strikes to edge out last month's Bowler of the Month Adam Walker.

Adam bowled a real nice game of 156, and with handicap a 265 final game. It should be noted that 8-yr old Adam was bowling with a fingertip ball for only the 2nd time. Doug and Adam were the only bowlers who bowled over their average in all 6 games.

3rd place finisher was Doug's sister, 11-yr old Rachel Csanyi with a final game of 126, and 228 with handicap. Rachel bowled real well after taking some time off from bowling and came back strong.

4th place went to St. George, UT resident and super senior, Rick Miller. Rick bowled a nice 206 plus 5 pins of handicap in the final game for a total of 211. Rick had the high game of the tournament with a 289 scratch in game 3 of qualifying. Rick drove all the way down from St. G. just to bowl with us. Rick being a "super senior" and an avid bowler in many of the big tournaments around the southwest, has told me he likes to beat up on the young kids whenever he can. Little did I realize he meant 8-13 yr olds.

Thanks to everyone who came out and participated. Congratulations to John Jakus who was the lucky winner of a 1-hour massage certificate.
